one thing I can say Jenny, that it's not completely your fault for who typically hang with...some may have not be in an evironment where you "had" [for lack of a better word] to inter-mingle with other races...i know some of the people i've encountered thru life view things differently mainly because of the situations growing up...i went to well mixed schools from 6th-10th and then a majority jewish school for 11-12 so i have no problem with inter-mingling, but some i know who have been to all white schools or all black schools find it not as simple...or view it as "they won't have anything in common" with the other race...(and this is just my OPINION on how we can have a small level of racism within ourselves, due to environment)

i went to all black schools for elementary & high school.. but to predominately white schools for middle & college.. so i have NO problem either but a lot of my friends w/o that exposure do
i went to mixed schools k-12 then i had a culture shock wheni went to a mostly white school for college. white people can kick it!!! i had fun though. and the few blacks that were there blended in with no problems...ok so thats not totally true there was some problems but nothing big!
